Privacy & cookie policy

What we collect when you use controledge.co.uk, why, and the choices you have.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Who we are

This website is run by Control Edge Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 16982142). We are the "controller" of the personal data described below. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@controledge.co.uk or on +44 7767 982505.

What we collect, and why

Enquiry form and free toolkit sign-up

If you send an enquiry or request the free QMS Implementation Toolkit, we collect the details you type in (such as your name, email address, company and message). We use them to reply to you, provide the toolkit, and, if you have asked for it, follow up about our services. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries from businesses, or your consent where you opt in to updates. These forms are processed on our behalf by Formspree (a US-based form service), and the messages reach our business inbox.

WhatsApp chat

The chat button on this site does not store your message with us. When you press send, it opens WhatsApp with your message pre-filled, and from that point WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply to the conversation. If you message us, we will see your phone number and what you write, and use them only to reply.

Email and phone

If you email or call us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our normal business records.

Fonts

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is sent to Google's servers when a page loads, in order to deliver the font files.

Cookies and website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they view, whether they are new or returning, and which sources (for example search engines, social media or AI assistants) they arrive from. This helps us improve the site.

Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept analytics" on the banner. If you decline, or do nothing, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are stored. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

CookiePurposeTypical duration
_gaDistinguishes one visitor from another, so we can count unique and returning visitorsUp to 2 years
_ga_<ID>Keeps track of the current visit (session) and pages viewedUp to 2 years

Google processes this analytics data for us and may transfer it outside the UK, including to the United States. We store your cookie choice in your browser (local storage) so we do not keep asking; it contains no personal details. Our analytics settings use IP anonymisation, and we do not use the data for advertising.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers named above (Formspree, Google, WhatsApp) so that the site and our communication with you work, and where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and correspondence are kept only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable business records. Analytics data is held in our Google Analytics account for the retention period we have set there.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email info@controledge.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
