No. Certification bodies apply a transition period — typically multiple years, in line with past ISO revisions — during which your existing ISO 9001:2015 certificate remains valid. We'll confirm your specific deadline once your certification body publishes its transition schedule and plan the work well ahead of it.
IATF 16949 is the automotive-sector quality standard and is built on top of ISO 9001 — it adds automotive-specific requirements such as customer-specific requirements (CSRs) and the five core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
