Course content

  • How IATF 16949 builds on ISO 9001 and where the extra requirements sit
  • The three internal audit types: quality management system, manufacturing process and product audits
  • Customer-specific requirements (CSRs) and how to audit against them
  • Linking the core tools (APQP, FMEA, control plan, MSA, SPC) to the audit
  • Risk-based audit programmes, including shifts and process coverage
  • Writing findings and driving effective corrective action

  • Build and run an audit programme that reflects IATF 16949 expectations
  • Audit a manufacturing process against its control plan and work instructions
  • Audit product against full specification, independently of inspection data
  • Write findings customers and certification bodies will accept

Prerequisites: Familiarity with ISO 9001 and some automotive quality experience is recommended.
